Diabetes
Cats do develop diabetes mellitus and can be a challenge to control with Insulin injections. Partly due to the feline's small body size, regulation of blood glucose levels with tiny amounts of Insulin will require careful attention to the cat's daily routine and unpredictable eating habits. The mechanism of action that creates a diabetic state in a cat can be slightly different from a dog's. Current research is trying to unlock some of the unknowns surrounding this disorder in cats.
